Chapter five: summary

Summary
Jonas has to discribe his last dream in chapter five. At the morning ritual every family member tell his dream of the last night. Lily begins with a detailed dream about breaking rules. The mother had a dream near his job and the father had no dream. Jonas doesn´t want to talk about his dream but he does it. He has a dream about Fiona and him in the washingroom of the House of Old. Jonas says Fiona to dress of her clothes against the rule and to get into the tub. But Fiona laughts at him. Jonas knows that it is wrong but he has the urge to do this.
After the father and Lily are away the mother talks to Jonas and explains him that he has to take pills against this `Stirrings` like the other people too. He has to take this pill every morning and until he comes in the House of Old because it is a rule.

  1. Your choice of words is interesting here. As you are writing a summary and not a comment, I guess you just take over the idea that "because it is a rule" is strong enough to be a reason for taking pills regularly... Is it like a pill for headache or what exactly does it help? Are stirrings such bad things?

  2. I think a pill looks like normal pills :) It sould help against love and other emotions to other people. In this community stirrings are bad because there is no love or something like this. The children are burn by birthmothers. Nobody else get children and if their are stirrings it can happens that other people gets children too. Because of that it is a rule to get this pill.
